Brendan O’Shea, founder and managing director of Just Clear has been shortlisted in the Entrepreneur of the Year category in this year’s BusinessGreen Leaders Awards. And the house clearance and rubbish removal company has made it to the shortlist for the Waste-busting Project of the Year with its Busting Waste with Re-use initiative.

The awards provide businesses with the opportunity to showcase what they are doing to promote sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Billed as the UK’s most prestigious and high-profile green awards, the event brings together businesses, NGOs, public sector bodies and individuals across twenty-five different categories.

Sustainable business models and green technologies

Now in their ninth year, the awards are proof that sustainable business models and clean technologies continue to make into the mainstream, redefining what it means to be a successful business. This year, the theme is ambition in recognition of the boldness and determination behind the best green initiatives, projects and businesses.

The 2019 judging panel includes policy and strategic advisers for environmental organisations, and representatives of business forums.

For many years now, Just Clear has banged the drum for sustainable disposal of waste and recycling as much as possible.

Zero to landfill policy

From old furniture people can pick up in return for a donation to charities, to working with companies that specialises in the no emissions no waste disposal of old televisions and computer screens, the business is proud of its zero to landfill policy.

Brendan said: “It’s a huge honour to have been shortlisted in the Entrepreneur of the Year and the Waste-busting Project of the Year categories in the BusinessGreen awards. We operate along strong social and environmental lines—working with social enterprises and good causes, and employing all our own staff instead of contracting out in other cities.”

“In addition, we have a strong set of values. Waste is a commodity that can be recycled and reused in many ways. We never think of it simply as ‘junk’, and we work hard to create a happy, productive working environment, which translates to customers who love our services.”

The BusinessGreen Leaders Awards event takes place in London on 26 June at The Brewery in London.

Just Clear are a leading clearance and rubbish removal company operating across London, The South East, elsewhere throughout the UK including Oxford house clearance, waste removal in Belfast, Scotland and Wales.
