We are proud to announce that we have been named as a finalist in the ‘Circular Economy Project of the Year’ category at the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards 2020!
The BusinessGreen Leaders Awards is the UK’s largest and most prestigious green business awards and this year’s shortlist boasts a host of top blue chips, innovative start-ups, and inspiring sustainability leaders. Big names include NatWest and WWF, alongside small but mighty initiatives such as Y.O.U underwear and sustainable events company Legacy Events.
To be successfully considered for ‘Circular Economy Project of the Year’, Just Clear had to demonstrate a leading role in ‘pioneering genuine circular economy thinking’ – an economic framework aimed at eliminating waste and the continual use of resources – while curbing waste levels and delivering broader financial benefits.
We are already recognised nationally for our low carbon operation which follows the core belief that waste is a commodity. We are also heralded as the first house company in the UK to become ‘zero-waste to landfill’ as we aim to keep as much of our work out of the rubbish dumps, and back into usage, as possible.
Driven by a strong social and environmental purpose, Irishman and self-confessed eco-warrior Brendan O’Shea has been at the helm of Just Clear since its inception in 2007 when he left his role in commercial banking to carve out a more planet-conscious career. Since then, Just Clear has gone from strength to strength, earned numerous ‘green’ awards, and last year even led him to be featured on the front cover of Forbes magazine.
Brendan commented, “It’s great to be recognised in these awards again this year and see an increasing number of businesses leading the way in the UK’s growing green economy. I’m proud of our firm foundations in regeneration, choosing to reuse and recycle over contributing to the planet’s growing waste problem.”
“Our mantra is, everything that we think is junk can be turned into assets and it’s true. Through recycling and reusing we can take away from landfill and give back to society – it’s a win-win”.
The winners will be announced across the 2-day virtual awards ceremony on Wednesday 14th and Thursday15th October 2020 – watch this space!
